Landscape | White Sands

For day two of my long weekend, my wife and I drove up to White Sands National Monument, the largest gypsum field in the world.  The sand dunes are expansive and the spot is popular for sledding and filmmaking when the area isn't being used for missile testing.  We were lucky enough to get a backcountry camping permit for the night, allowing us to enjoy the sand dunes during the hunter's moon weekend, the moon was so bright any standing object cast visible shadows on the white sand.

The trip ended up being a big success and I look forward to more exploring and more photography.
