In my ongoing attempt to explore the state of New Mexico I decided to stay a little closer to home this week. For my second adventure of 2016 I journeyed to Travertine Falls in the Canyon Estates area with my wife and our dog. After passing the trail-head signage advertising "Plague Notice", we made our way uphill for half a mile to the Travertine Grotto and Falls. The falls was a simple trickle of water (I'll have to come back and see if that changes in the summer), but the hike was pleasant and it was good to get out of the house.

| "Falls" are a little different here than in Oregon, but it probably changes during time of year. |

| We went up to the top of Sandia Crest but it was too snowy to get far |
